Mangrove Products: TS-Pipe HOW to USE

How to use Mangrove Products: TS-Pipe

Installation

  1. LOCATE 3-RAM pistons. (Sticking out at 45-degree angle)
  2. Ensure you have 9.25 in. of SPACE from the TIP of piston to the CONTACT POINT of the engine bracket at FULL TILT UP.
  3. ATTACH the TS-Pipe by sliding over the piston and seated against the base of tilt/trim unit.
  4. CHECK to make sure the TS-Pipe point is free of contact with grease fitting/zerk before compression (Applicable for some Yamaha, Suzuki, and Honda Outboards).
  5. TILT Engine DOWN until engine is snug or making contact with TS-Pipe.
  6. DONE and ready to trailer.

Removal

  1. TILT engine/ outboard motor to UP position
  2. REMOVE TS-Pipe
  3. DONE

When Using

  1. To prevent rubber memory, be sure to remove TS-Pipe from Piston after each use.
  2. DO NOT leave TS-Pipe compressed on 3-RAM piston for extended periods of time (Memory will occur after approximately (3-5 days) depending on heat conditions.

Troubleshooting

  1. My 3-RAM (Vertical Piston) is less than 9.25 inches and does NOT fit. This is due to activated “Trim Limiter Setting”. An easy way to check is to see if you can NOT engage the “maintenance latch” located near the upper engine bracket on the side of the outboard. These are the ways to fix this issue.
  • Go to local dealer or mechanic to have adjusted.
  • Cut modification can be completed UP to 1.25 inches on TS-Pipe (Rubber) ONLY, anything greater than 1.25 inches, you will need to cut both the TS-Pipe (Liner) and TS-Pipe (Rubber) to ensure rubber compression/ flexibility. Max cut/modification range is 2.25 inches when cutting both Liner and Rubber sections.
  • Cut modification can be done simply with hack saw
  • NOTE: Measure twice and cut once
